How do I use Webfiles from my desktop?

Windows

  1. From the Windows Start menu, click Computer.
  2. Within the Computer window that appears, click "Map network drive" in the ribbon menu.
  3. Within the Map Network Drive dialog, enter https://webfiles.uci.edu/UCInetID (replace UCInetID with your actual UCInetID e.g. webfiles.uci.edu/panteate)
  4. Click the two checkboxes at the bottom.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. In the window that appears, enter your UCInetID and password.
  7. Click the Remember my credentials checkbox.
  8. Click the ОK button.
  9. Now you should see a WebDAV drive that you can expand to view folders and files on your Webfiles account.
  10. You can access this drive in the future under the Computer listing in Windows Explorer.

macOS

  1. On a Mac, use the Connect To Server feature of the Finder. Select Go > Connect To, and enter https://webfiles.uci.edu/UCInetID and then click Connect.
  2. In the window that appears, enter your UCInetID and password then click OK. (Click the box to save your password in the Keychain.)
  3. Now you should see a WebDAV drive in the Finder that you can expand to view folders and files on your Webfiles account.
  4. You can access this drive in the future under the Finder.
