Before you begin
Visit our Service Catalog and order a license. You'll receive a confirmation email with instructions telling you how to create an ArcGIS Online (AGOL) account, which is what you'll use to activate the software. Starting in late June 2024, the only way to license ArcGIS Pro will be as a named user, as we will no longer offer provisioning files to activate the software.
Download ArcGIS Pro
- Visit our SharePoint site and select the "ArcGIS" folder.
- Select the "ArcGIS Pro" folder, and then select the .exe file.
- When prompted, select "Download".
Installing ArcGIS Pro for the first time
- Double click the file you downloaded and follow the prompts to begin the install and accept all the default settings.
- After the install is done, ArcGIS Pro will open and ask you to sign in. IMPORTANT: Select the option 'Sign in using browser', and answer 'Yes' to the popup asking if you always want to sign in using a browser.
- Your web browser should open to the same page you use when you login to ArcGIS Online (https://ucirvine.maps.arcgis.com/). Login with your UCInetID and password, and once you do, you'll see a pop-up asking you if you want to allow www.arcgis.com to open links of this type in the associated app. Check the box first to remember this option and then select 'open' and Pro will launch. Feel free to close your web browser at this point.
You only have to do this once. After you do that, Pro should open normally without any need to login again with a browser.
