Before you begin

Visit our Service Catalog and order a license. You'll receive a confirmation email with a link to download a provisioning file containing authorization numbers to activate the software.

Updating your license only

If you're installing ArcGIS Pro for the first time, skip to the next section for instructions on how to download the software and perform the install.

  1. Open ArcGIS Pro and select the button labeled "About ArcGIS Pro" in the bottom left.
  2. On the next page select "Licensing" (on the left side of the screen) and then select the button "Configure your licensing options".
  3. The "Licensing" window will open. Change the "License Type" to "Single Use License".
  4. Click "Authorize" at the bottom of the window.
  5. The "Software Authorization Window" will open.  Select "I have received an authorization file and am now ready to finish the authorization process" and then click the "Browse...." button.
  6. Select the "ArcGISPro.prvc" file you downloaded from Google Drive and then select "Open".
  7. Click "Next".
  8. Click "Authorize with Esri now using the Internet" and then click "Next".
  9. On the next two screens, fill out the forms to register the license under your name and click "Next".
  10. On the next two screens, accept the default license numbers and just click "Next" on each screen.
  11. After the software is authorized, click "Finish".
  12. You'll return to the "Licensing" window where you started. Click "OK" to finish.

Downloading ArcGIS Pro

  1. Visit our SharePoint site and select the "ArcGIS" folder.

Installing ArcGIS Pro for the first time

  1. Double click the file you downloaded and follow the prompts to begin the install, agree to any agreements, and accept all the default settings.
  2. After the install is done, ArcGIS Pro will open and ask you to sign in. NOTE: DO NOT SIGN IN. Instead, click the "Configure Licensing" link at the bottom of the window.
    • If you try to sign in, you'll see error messages that you are not authorized because the license you were given is a Single Use license, not a Named User license.
  3. The "Licensing" window will open. Change the "License Type" to "Single Use License". It may take a minute for the option to become available.
  4. Click "Authorize" at the bottom of the window. It may take a minute for the option to become available.

  10. On the "Authorize Software Extensions" screen, you'll notice Authorization Numbers for only 5 extensions; however, rest assured that you can still use the other extensions for free and they are covered by the site license. Select "Next".
  11. After the software is authorized, click "Finish".
  12. You'll return to the "Licensing" window where you started. Click "OK" to finish.
